Founder and Managing Partner

Barrett Ethington, CLU® is the Founder and Managing Partner of Ethington Financial Group. He is the youngest of four children and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Barrett’s many hobbies include fly-fishing the Provo River, backpacking the Wind River Range, and running/hiking/camping wherever the outdoors call him.

A native to Salt Lake City and raised in the LDS church, Barrett was fortunate to serve his two-year mission in Dublin, Ireland, before returning home to pursue various careers while he attended college. In 2007, Barrett aligned himself with Apple as the Sales Lead of Utah, and spent the next five years growing his team. Interestingly, Barrett played an integral part in Apple’s point of sale development for US and Canada, splitting time between Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California and Salt Lake.

After absorbing valuable leadership experience with Apple, Barrett decided to pursue his career in finance—a childhood dream. Partnering with the Fortune 100 insurance and investment firm, New York Life, in May of 2013, he took great pride in helping to provide peace of mind to his community, through comprehensive and strategic planning. In 2015, Barrett was promoted to Development Manager for the state of Utah as well as territories in Wyoming and Idaho, where he was responsible for the development and oversight of their new and established Agents and Advisors.

A consummate professional, Barrett has switched roles and became a Financial Adviser, and has dedicated himself to his continued learning, in order to offer his clients the most current and advanced solutions. He holds his Series 7, 66 and 26 with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is a designated Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) through the American College of Finance. Barrett is affiliated with the New York Life Insurance Company, its investments subsidiary NYLIFE Securities LLC, and its financial planning subsidiary Eagle Strategies. He is proud to be a qualifying member (2019, 2020) of the international Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)*, and is an avid member of the Salt Lake City Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).

Ryan Gill


Ryan Gill spent most of his life living in Millcreek, Utah where he currently resides with his wife and 4 children. When not at work, Ryan spends his time enjoying his wonderful family. He values creating new memories with his family through traveling, serving, being outdoors and supporting his children in their personal endeavors.

An active member of the LDS Church, Ryan served his two-year mission in South Carolina. Upon his return, he joined the family business—Eckardt and Company, a successful and local building maintenance contractor. For 10 years, Ryan worked directly with building owners and property managers cultivating relationships and building trust. His management contributions coupled with his sales and marketing expertise doubled the company's revenue.

Ryan acquired his general contractors license and his real estate license in 2006. He developed Summitt Builders, a residential construction company, from the ground-up to a financially viable company. His responsibilities included overseeing and managing the site plan, preparing and presenting bids, design and development of residential/commercial projects. His strength was his ability to listen, communicate and keep projects running efficiently.

A new venture led him to being hired by Apple Inc. as a leader in Business. He spent the next decade being a part of unparalleled technology and cutting edge products. His experience on the business team provided him the opportunity to acquire and build solid relationships with Business clients. He worked with over 200 companies throughout the Wasatch front to educate, provide valuable service and aiding companies in implementing strategies, which helped them grow their business.

One of Ryan’s greatest mentors is his Grandfather, Richard Wells, a successful business owner and respected community leader. His grandfather often said, “find out what you love to do and then find a way to get paid for it.” This is something that Ryan has discovered in all areas of his careers. Ryan’s desire to serve and provide guidance to people is what ultimately led him to his career at New York Life. Ryan is passionate about advocating for financial and insurance strategies. He takes pride in helping to bring business owners and families financial security. There’s something inspiring about the creation of a strategy, setting it into motion and seeing its benefits come to fruition. Ryan’s accolades in his time with New York Life include achieving the following sales awards, a Career Life Summit Award and achieving Executive Council** Status in his first two consecutive years. Ryan’s partnership at Ethington Financial Group is integral in the success of our clients and our firm.

Clint Stosich, CLTC®

Senior Associate & Employee Benefits Specialist

Clint Stosich, Senior Associate at Ethington Financial Group was born in Evanston, IL and moved to Idaho Falls at the age of two. Clint graduated from Idaho Falls High School and furthered his education at Utah State University where he received his bachelors of Science degree. From a young age he was passionate about many sports but found his true joy in ice hockey. He was lucky enough to play for the Utah State University hockey team while attending school. Clint is passionate about his love for USU and if you pass him on the street with any sort of Aggie garb, you will likely be interrupted with a “GO AGGIES” chant from him.

A proud husband and father of two beautiful children. He and his family live in Millcreek, Utah. Clint enjoys all sorts of projects including woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. Clint can still be found on the ice playing hockey weekly in non-competitive league.

Starting in the insurance business in Feb of 2016, Clint has become a valuable resource in specific various areas including Employee Benefits, Qualified retirement plans, Income solutions and Planning for Long Term Care needs for our clients. Clint is part of the prestigious AARP partner program and Qualified for the Executive Council In 2019. We are fortunate to have him part of our team.

Service Manager/Licensed Services Associate

Michelle Gord is the Service Manager/Licensed Services Associate of Ethington Financial Group, and was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, prior to settling down in the Salt Lake Valley to raise her family. She proudly serves on the Board of the Southwest Valley Women in Business association, and is an Ambassador for the South Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Michelle’s college study of clothing and textiles led her to pursue a textiles retail career working for companies such as Weinstock’s, Banana Republic, Village Whites Shoppe at Gardner Village and Nordstrom. This led to other pursuits with other companies where she developed customer service and sales experience spanning over three decades.

Prior to joining the Ethington Financial Group, Michelle began her career in finance as a Licensed Agent with the New York Life Insurance Company. There, she utilized her talents and expertise in customer service to help pre-retirees create lifetime income strategies. She also provided support to business owners.

Michelle is a cheerful and compassionate nurturer who connects with all in the circle of her influence, supporting all in gaining self-sufficiency, a change allowing for greater peace, harmony and joy. Michelle truly feels it is a blessing to be using all her talents and abilities in her ideal career position doing service and work that she loves. Her success comes from her quiet strength, kindness, calm demeanor, detail-orientedness, being a good listener, and her pleasant persistence with follow through.

Michelle is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, cooking, hiking, biking, camping, travel, doing service for those in need and is always delighted to sit at a table with family and friends sharing Korean food which she acquired a love for when previously doing church service and teaching English in Korea.

Jacob Davis, Associate with Ethington Financial Group was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He loves enjoying the natural beauties of the great outdoors and for this reason is proud to call Utah his home. As an avid outdoorsman, when he is not in the office, he can be found enjoying time with his family and friends skiing, hiking, camping or spending time at his cabin in Heber, Utah.

From a young age Jacob has been involved in the customer service industry and has always loved working with people. When Jacob was just 16 years old he began working at Chick-Fil-A and took great pride in serving their guests as one of the stores hospitality specialists.

Although much of his time has been spent in the customer service arena, he has also had the opportunity to work closely and develop relationships with business owners and real estate agents working as a property inspector (Property Management Systems) and marketing advisor (Katie Waltman Boutique). His hard work and determination allowed him to achieve his life long dream of serving a full time LDS mission in the country of Colombia.

Upon returning home from Colombia he decided it was time to pursue his next dream… A career in the financial industry. Jacob’s drive to learn combined with his love of people and helping others to learn and understand are the foundations which he strives to build his practice upon.

Jacob takes great pride and finds much satisfaction in being able to help others to feel more confident and at peace with their future by creating strategies that serve the purpose of helping our clients achieve their financial goals.
